17 MAAALogo. Holding a ‘Have a Go Fly day’ is a great way to grow memberships, promote our sport and encourage our future flyers to take flight. Why should you and your club participate? Supporting the growth of our sports and clubs is important. Growth in club memberships allow us to continue to invest money in club facilities and to educate pilots and the general public, ensuring the airways stay safe now and in the future. In order to grow our sport, the MAAA encourages clubs to welcome and support new members, allowing flying enthusiasts to enjoy the sport of aeromodelling in a safe and fun environment. We would love your club to get on board, providing your members with more resources and field facilities while protecting the future of our sport. How to get started: 1. Have your club host a Have a Go flying event – welcoming the local community, young and old to take part. 2. Visit your local schools in the community and see whether you can host a youth fly day at after school care or vacation care. Let us welcome these Have a Go initiatives and encourage new members to come to our clubs and live the reality. The future of our sport is in our hands.
