MAAA Wingspan
8 WING SPAN NOVEMBER The event once again offered an amazing facility for flying with the strips immaculately groomed and the beautiful canola fields as a picturesque backdrop. “The weather gods blessed us with amazing weather on Saturday and we had a great number of people turn up. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t so kind on Sunday. Despite this, we still think it was one of our most successful scale events,” said Les. With a diverse fleet of aircraft, many generations of pilots who came to Shepparton commended the club for a well-run event that provided a friendly atmosphere for people to come together and share their love of aeromodelling. “The event continues to grow in popularity and next year we hope it will be even bigger and better,” said Les. “To promote our sport even further, we will look at handing out ‘Have a Go Day’ fliers. “We hope that will encourage members of the public to come back to our club and try out aeromodelling for themselves. “We think this is a great way to attract new members by highlighting the thrills, fun and excitement of our sport at the Mammoth Scale and then entice them back for another fun, free flying day.” Big congratulations go to Tim Dehaan for taking out the Pilots Choice at the event with his Balsa USA ERCO Ercoupe. It was powered by the SaitoFG-6ITS and guided by Spektrum Dx18. Thank you to Keith Quigg for sharing your photos from the Shepparaton Mammoth Event.
