Another successful ‘Have a Go Day’
showcased the true spirit of MAAA
members and their local clubs. In
July the Queensland Calvert Radio
Aero Modellers Society (CRAMS)
gave the local Ipswich community a
chance to ‘have a go’ at flying radio
controlled planes. Local modellers,
pilots and enthusiasts were on
deck to explain the different types
of planes and flying techniques.
Both children and adults, from
10 to 67 years of age experienced
first hand the thrill of flight and
the welcoming camaraderie of the
Calvert club. While CRAMS members
enjoyed sharing their love for
flying, knowledge and experiences
with the local community. It was
great to see locals, like 67-year-
old, Bill Robson, dust off the
cobwebs and pick up the controls
after a 30-year break. Bill had not
lost his touch and showed off his
strong skills with 10 minutes of
unassisted flying.

CRAMS for promoting our sport
in their local community and
encouraging potential new
members to join and experience
the fun of flying.
