VICTORIAN CLUB PARCS GETS THE NEXT GENERATION INTERESTED IN AEROMODELLING
WITH A DISPLAY DAY FOR LOCAL SCHOOL KIDS.
Peninsula Aeronautical Radio
Control Society was formed for
people who love to fly, build and
talk about model aircraft. It caters
for fixed wing (power and glider)
and helicopter radio control
models.
PARCS was formed over 40 years
ago and was originally based in
Frankston. Its flying field is now at
Carrum Downs.
The club recently hosted a group
of children from Padua College’s
Mornington Campus at their field
for a display day.
From PARCS…
Daniel Arapakis and Addie’s
Hobbies Wayne Newman buddied
with the kids who used a Phoenix
Sports 40 trainer supplied by
Addies Hobbies and also a Great
Planes Ugly Stik for the hands on
event; most teachers had a go as
well.
Display models were also set up
and Wayne explained the variety
of models and different areas of
aeromodelling.
To wrap, Wayne flew a jet with
a spectacular demo and Daniel
finished off the day with flights by
his F3D World Champ model Minute
Master around the pylon course
that we set up for the event.
We all had loads of fun and kids,
teachers and parents all being very
lucky to be part of a great event to
build an awareness of our hobby
and sport!
