military flying
spectacular
This huge military spectacular
was a tribute to our servicemen
and women and featured not only
radio-controlled aircraft, but full
size warplanes and vehicles as
well.
The Suncoast Model Flyers lured
the best display pilots and
aircraft from around the country,
presenting visitors with an exciting
low and close air show.
The giant-size scale model aircraft
included a wide range of military
planes including piston engine
warbirds, genuine turbine jets
and helicopters. Speeds varied
from the slow old birds from the
World War I biplanes and triplanes,
through to jets exceeding
300km/h. The event also featured
helicopter displays from a Cobra
attack helicopter, AS550, and other
military choppers.
