provide the highest level of service.
Safe skies
If you are amember or club with
safety concerns the MAAA is the
only national body in Australia
recognised by the Civil Aviation
Safety Authority (CASA)
as amodel
aviation Recreational Aviation
Administrative Organisation.
Being recognised by CASAmeans
we can assist your club with public
displays, night flying, andmore, and
we can help you reduce costs.
We can also look at some safety
matters and report on outcomes,
possibly sparing our members
an investigation by CASA. We can
also submit recommendations on
changes to regulations when safety
issues arise to helpmake flying safer
for everyone to enjoy.
Club Assistance
Scheme
The MAAA offers insurance for your
protection and peace of mind, but
our services extend somuch further.
We lead and protect the future of our
sport, giving a voice to our members.
Clubs can apply for our Club
Assistance Scheme, which has
previously supported the purchase of
firefighting andmowing equipment
and the construction of shaded areas
and toilet blocks for some of our
clubs across the country.
We offer our services so you can
safely enjoy the adrenalin rush of a
seriously fun flight and get access to
the best facilities to fly, buildmodels
and formgreat friendships.
If you decide to get serious and
are up to the challenge, the MAAA
provides the only platform in the
country to take part in the world
championships, the highest level of
competition.
At MAAA clubs, flyingmodel aircraft
is now recognised as a sport by the
Australian Government, through
the Australian Sports Commission.
Recognition as a sport is a great
win for our members and clubs,
especially when applying for State
and Local Government grants.
As a result of feedback from the
2014 Membership Survey, the MAAA
is rolling out a new Silver Wings
recognition program this year.
